Catchup

This is the part where I say things have been crazy busy lately, and then apologize for not writing anything in either of my blogs. Although I was busy my reasons for not writing are completely different. I haven’t wanted to write because I wasn’t certain the direction my life was about to take. I’ve been both on the fence and in a pseudo lethargy about what to do next.

Those problems solved (and fodder for a later post) I thought I would catch up any interested parties in the (minor) events of my life.

I…

  • have a Kittin
  • have a Wii
  • am going to School
  • have become proficient at government paperwork
  • finished watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  • started doing martial arts again
  • Have a functional, registered and insured car

Having cute kittins has done a lot to fill the hole in my heart that losing my last cat left. Ninja is a truly wonderful creature and having her sister Neph around means I don’t need to give her love 24/7.

The wii was an impulse purchase, I was looking for Veronica Mars season 3 to cheer myself up after… some unpleasantness with the female persuasion. Not only did it cheer me up, but gave me tons of interesting insights for my other blog.

School is interesting. I still suck at math but thankfully I won’t need anything higher then Algebra till I get deeper into college.

Getting Goverment medical assistance is obscene, however seeing doctors that could keep me alive is important enough to slog through.

The Buffy Musical episode “Once More with Feeling” is strangely addictive. The cast album has been both in my car & Winamp playlist for weeks which is highly unusual for me.

**Spoiler Alert**

I really enjoyed the last season of Buffy; having Spike as a love interest was expected but very interesting. He was always a much deeper character then Angel and the fact that he chose to have a soul speaks volumes about his love for Buffy.

The potential slayers were pretty bad-ass too, with exception to Willows girlfriend Kennedy (She was a snotty bitch) they were all very likable and interesting.

I’m not really sure what to think of Andrew, I really expected him to die in the final battle. But I suppose he would be an ideal watcher with Giles rebuilding the council. The fact that he lived and Anya died was pretty unexpected too, Anya was a long term character and Xanders main love interest… her death was meaningful for more then being a form of redemption over her demonic past.

Activating the slayer potentials was an interesting but fairly predictable outcome after the buildup in the middle of the season. Still the execution was breathtaking and earned itself a gold star in my book. I can’t help but think of the whole scenario as an allegory for female empowerment, Although I suppose that thought has been in the back of my head since I started watching Season 1.

**Spoilers Ended**

I think with Buffy out of the way I’ll work on Angel once I get some downtime. Finding moderately priced DvD’s is sometimes a challenge here.

The car is the last subject I’ll touch on. For a beat up overused and under cared for pile of parts… it serves me well. I think when I finally replace it I’ll get another Pontiac.

Thats all for right now, I’ll have another post up either later tonight or tomorrow morning.
